Nian is a tableware design that was focused on the revivification of gifting culture for Lunar’s New Year by food itself and the food patterns.
In order to well connect the tradition, Nian was designed to follow the shape of lantern. Lantern represents Chinese culture in many ways. In the past, during Lunar New Year, people carried lanterns to visit their families and friends. When they arrived, people would hang the lanterns up to show their blessings had been well delivered.
